Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center, the summer home of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, is located on the campus of the Finger Lakes Community College, just off Routes 5 and 20, about a mile east of Canandaigua. The amphitheatre was opened in 1983. Indoor seating is available, in addition to lawn seats outside the shell. Concert-goers bring lawn chairs and blankets and sit on the hillside overlooking the amphitheatre. Picnicking is allowed on the grounds surrounding the shell.
A light classics series of about seven concerts is offered on Saturday evenings and Sunday evenings feature Pops concerts with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Name entertainers and groups, in approximately
six concerts during the Summer season, are also scheduled.
