Clay and an oval: all you need for a good night of racing. Established in 1957, Black Rock Speedway in Dundee is host to something new almost every Friday night from April through September. Modified stock car and street stock car racing are the track’s meat and potatoes, but there’s also vintage motorcycle racing, rodeos (horses, not cars), and collisions between monster trucks and school buses. On certain weekends they even let the fans get involved, with spectator drag races. Hang out for awhile: camping on the grounds is free, and the track has a variety of concessions, including beer and wine. Adult tickets are $10, seniors and teens 13-16 $8, and children 12 and under free.
