CANANDAIGUA SPEEDWAY

An unabashed home of dirt, this self-styled “Fastlands of the Finger Lakes” in Canandaigua is one glorious half mile of screeching metal and flying soil. A fixture on the dirt racing scene since the early ’50s, Canandaigua Motorsports Park focuses on Big Block Modifieds, street cars that have been tricked out for increased speed and — we hope — extra endurance. Races are on Saturdays throughout the summer, and regular admission is $12. Kids under 16 get in free. Check the website for special events, including demolition derbies and drag races at the accompanying pit.
