More Reasons to Hit the Trail!

Who are we kidding?  There is always something to celebrate in the Finger Lakes with year-round tastings and festivities.  Come any day of the week, any time of the year, and you will find glasses being raised in celebration of the Finger Lakes.

Just to name a few…

Seneca Lake Wine Trail’s Silver Anniversary
This year, the Seneca Lake Wine Trail is celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a calendar of events and Riedel Crystal collector’s wine glasses (ticketed attendees at select events receive one!).  If you’ve missed out on earlier events, hit the trail April 29-May 1 for the annual Spring Wine and Cheese Weekend.  Let your taste buds lead the way, as you sample unique pairings at over 30 participating wineries on a self-guided tour around beautiful Seneca Lake.  Ticketed attendees go home with a commemorative anniversary glass, recipe book, and unforgettable taste of the Finger Lakes!

A New Addition to the Trail
As you make your way along the Seneca Wine Trail this spring, taste the lake’s latest wines at J.R. Dill Winery, located six miles north of Watkins Glen on the east side of Seneca Lake.  J.R. Dill started making wine in his parents’ basement eight years ago and in 2009, he founded J.R. Dill Winery, Seneca Lake Wine Trail’s newest member!  Sip on the latest harvest at the tasting bar made of Seneca Lake glass or browse photos of Watkins Glen and Seneca Lake from when J.R.’s great-grandfather worked in the vineyards over 100 years ago.

Wine & Herbs on Cayuga
If you prefer herbs with your wine, follow the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail on the weekends of April 29-May 1 or May 6-8 for the 19th Annual Wine & Herb Fest!  Ticket holders receive a souvenir wine glass, plant carrier, recipe booklet, an herb or vegetable plant, as well as wine and food pairings at each winery.  Create your own recipes from the herbs you gather, and come back in the fall to share them at the Grow & Show Contests.  The Wine & Herb Fest is Cayuga Lake Wine Trail’s most popular event—and tickets are limited.  Book early!

Come, raise your glass!
