21st Annual Glorious Garlic Festival at Fox Run Vineyards!

This weekend, discover, taste, and celebrate the variety of cool-climate artisan garlic that is cultivated right here in the Finger Lakes, at the 21st Annual Glorious Garlic Festival, August 3rd and 4th, hosted by Fox Run Vineyards in Penn Yan, New York. GF 13 Poster-250x386

A premier event for local “hard neck” garlic growers, this cool-climate garlic festival features summer varieties harvested in late July and known for their flavorful cloves that thrive in the Finger Lakes region.  Thirty vendors will showcase a variety of garlic-infused products from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the two-day festival held on the Fox Run winery grounds overlooking Seneca Lake.

Each day of the festival, enjoy a garlic-infused farm-to-table menu crafted by acclaimed Rochester chef/restaurateur Tony Gullace, and expertly matched to the signature estate wines of Fox Run Vineyards.  Sample local cheeses, breads, and oils, learn to cultivate garlic at home, or watch a master glassblower from the Corning Museum of Glass shape garlic bulbs from molten glass.

Other festivities include cooking demonstrations, garlic tastings, opportunities to meet the area’s top artisan garlic growers and chefs, Finger Lakes food producers, and area artists, as well as live music and entertainment for the entire family.  Festival admission and parking are free of charge.

Visitors are invited to attend a pre-festival celebration featuring the Town Pants, one of Vancouver’s leading Celtic bands, on Thursday, August 1, from 6 to 8 PM.  Take chairs or blankets for seating on Fox Run’s grounds, then kick back and enjoy another reason to celebrate summer in the Finger Lakes!
