Celebrate Finger Lakes Art & Artists at the Plein Air Festival!

Join Billsboro Winery in celebrating the beauty of the Finger Lakes through the work of local artists at the Sixth Annual Plein Air Festival, August 8-11, in Geneva, New York.

Follow and observe the work of 21 artists from around the region, as they spend Thursday and Friday painting local scenes in selected areas around Geneva, using watercolor, acrylic, oil and pastel.

Enjoy a timed “Paint Off” competition in the streets of downtown Geneva on Saturday morning, or celebrate the artist in you at the “Public Painting Party” ($20 for adults/$10 for children) guided by a Plein Air artist.  The cost includes all materials, and participants will get to take home their completed oil paintings.

The festival will culminate on Saturday evening with an Artists’ Gallery Reception and Awards Ceremony on the grounds of Rose Hill Mansion from 5:00-7:30 PM.  Gala ticket price ($25) includes entry to the event, wine and cheese reception, and live jazz, as well as one complimentary glass of wine.

Painting entries will be available for sale at the gala through silent auction.  If you are looking for a great value in local artwork, this is the place to be.  Bid on a piece that moves you, and vote to nominate your favorite for The People’s Choice Award.

The art sale will continue at the Rose Hill tasting room on Sunday where all entries will be on display for public viewing.  Don’t miss this celebration for art lovers and collectors alike!

The Plein Air Festival event benefits The Smith Center for the Arts, which operates the Smith Opera House and supports art activities throughout the Finger Lakes region.
