Spring Events in the Finger Lakes!

Oh, it’s time!  Waterfalls have thawed, buds are in bloom, and locals and visitors are out and about hiking the gorges, browsing the farmer’s markets, dining on the sidewalks, and sipping tastes of Finger Lakes grapes on winery decks overlooking the region’s gorgeous lakes.  There is a spring buzz in the air and so much to do, plus plenty of festivities waiting for you!  Take your pick of spring fun–from wine and herbs to wine and cheese, Mother’s Day celebrations, and Farmer’s Markets, or just come and marvel at the beauty of spring in the Finger Lakes!


Spring Events

  • Celebrate the season at the Spring Wine & Cheese Weekend, April 25-27th on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail!  Take a self-guided tour around beautiful Seneca Lake visiting over 30 participating wineries and sampling wine paired with a variety of cheese-themed dishes.

  • Toast to spring and spruce up your garden at the 22nd Annual Wine & Herb Festival, April 25-25th and May 2-4th on the Cayuga Lake Wine TrailEnjoy Finger Lakes cuisine prepared with fresh herbs as you sample wines from the trail.  Take home fragrant potted herbs and veggie plants for your garden, as well as a plant carrier, recipes, and a souvenir wine glass.
  • Head over to the Keuka Lake Wine Trail May 3-4th to experience Keuka in Bloom—a sell-out every spring!  Enjoy samples of world-class vintages and herb-inspired foods from local wineries, as you collect wines, recipes, and plants for your spring garden.
  • Treat your favorite Moms to a full-service Mother’s Day Brunch on May 11th from 11:00 AM-3 PM at the Crystal Lake Café at Americana Vineyards.  Free carnations for all moms!  Be sure to make reservations!
  • If you and your Mom prefer buffet-style, head over to Mother’s Day Brunch at Knapp Winery & Vineyard Restaurant on MAY 11th from 10:30 AM-3:30 PM.  Enjoy French toast with wild berry cream cheese filling, Eggs Benedict, pasta, seasonal vegetables and fresh seasonal fruit.  Each mom will receive a complimentary glass of sparkling wine.
  • If you love to learn about wine as much as you enjoy tasting it, Winemaker Wednesdays are for you.  This limited series of custom winery experiences takes place on the second Wednesday of each month–on May 14th in May.
  • If you have not experienced the Ithaca Market on the waterfront at Steamboat Landing, treat yourself to a visit this spring!  The market opened for the 2014 season on Saturday, April 5th and will continue on Saturdays from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM.  Browse fresh local produce, pastured meat and eggs, artisanal gifts, baked goods, and freshly prepared hot foods, as well as wine tastings, and an array of Finger Lakes goodness!  Visit with over 150 vendors who live and produce their goods within 30 miles of Ithaca, and find out what makes the Ithaca Farmer’s Market an award-winning cooperative market that locals love to support.
