Ithaca Festival this Week!!!

Oh, it’s time!!  Come join the locals in Ithaca as they gather on porch stoops and dance down the streets at the Ithaca Festival Parade to kick off this year’s Ithaca Festival, a celebration of Rhythm & Rhyme!

The Ithaca Festival is a four day music and arts celebration, the premier event of its kind in Tompkins County, featuring over 1,000 talented local musicians, painters, dancers, clowns, community groups, and ensembles.  As always, the Festival offers a variety of opportunities for local professionals, amateur, and youth groups to present their work, celebrating the diverse art and creative talent of Ithaca.  This year’s theme “Rhythm & Rhyme” speaks to the patterns found in every aspect of life and how they are expressed through the arts.

If you have not yet experienced the Ithaca Festival, get your first taste of local love for this beloved Finger Lakes town at the Ithaca Parade, Thursday, May 29th.  The parade will begin at 6:30 and travel south from North Cayuga Street down to Dewitt Park.  The celebration continues on through the Sunday, June 1st, with performances and displays by local artists and musicians, an abundance of food, crafts, and festivities for everyone in the family.  Enjoy multiple stages of entertainment, a special activity area for children, a sustainability expo, a craft show, a parade, and delicious festival food at various locations.

See the schedule of events for more details.

Join the tradition of celebrating the artist in everyone through Rhythm & Rhyme in one of the Finger Lakes’ favorite hometowns–or what the locals like to call, 10 square miles surrounded by reality.

See you in Ithaca!
