Ithaca in the NY Times!

After two years of redesign and renovation, Ithaca recently celebrated the grand opening of its Commons, the outdoor pedestrian town square, home to a variety of restaurants, shops, and businesses, situated in the heart of downtown.

First constructed 40 years ago, the Commons area has seen few changes over the years and was in desperate need of updating, from its underground utilities to its general design.  Now, Ithacans are celebrating the rejuvenation of a well-worn town treasure–featuring new lively patterned pavement, varied and movable seating, improved performance spaces, energy-efficient lighting, an outdoor reading area, and a small playground.

Just another reason to visit Ithaca!
