How it Works:
1) Take A PhotoTake a photo holding a sign that says "I'd Rather Be in the Finger Lakes" and that says www.FingerLakes.com somewhere on the sign. Remember - the more recognizable the location for your photo the better! Email your photos to info@fingerlakes.com. Make sure to include your full name, address, phone number and names of photo subject. (note, we will only publish first name last initial for each photo submitted). Only send images in .jpg, .gif format, please. Please do not send photos over 3mb if possible. |

Q: Can I have a friend take a picture for me from somewhere else in the world?
A: Of Course, wouldn't everyone rather be in the Finger Lakes?
Q: What type of photo should I submit?
A: Something fun. In front of a recognizable landmark (or simply a sign that proves your location), with a big group, at a big event (game, concert etc) or just you with a really cool sign.
Q: Can I enter multiple photos?
A: Yes, within reason. We prefer quality over quantity.
Q: What if I'm already in the Finger Lakes?
A: Update your sign accordingly–we award points for creativiy–just make sure to include www.FingerLakes.com on your sign!
Contest Rules & Details
Entrants
The entrant for each photo is the person who sends in the photo, not the subject in the photo. Images must not contain any material that violates the rights of any third party. The entrant must be at least 18 years of age. By submitting photos for the contest, entrant and subject(s) in photo agree to full rules of the contest.
Term
FingerLakes.com’s "I’d Rather Be in
the Finger Lakes" Photo Contest begins June 14, 2010 at 12:00am, and ends July 12, 2010 at 11:00pm . By submitting an entry, each entrant and subject of the photos agrees
to the rules of the contest and states that he or she owns the rights to the submitted photo.
What to enter
Enter a photo of yourself or another person holding a sign
that says:“I’d rather be in the Finger Lakes. www.FingerLakes.com.” The words on the sign should be clear and easy to read. The
web address www.FingerLakes.com must be included on the sign.
If entering into the "Farthest away from the Finger Lakes" or "Best photoshopping" categories, please specify that information with your submission. Farthest away from the Finger Lakes photo should be in a recognizable location, or near a sign or landmark.
Please do not submit any photos with inappropriate images. FingerLakes.com has the right to disqualify any photo it deems offensive.
Prizes
Decisions about contest winners and corresponding prizes are at the sole discretion of FingerLakes.com. When prizes are awarded, prizes cannot be redeemed for cash or traded for other prizes. The winner may transfer the prize only if allowed by the donor of the prize. Physical prizes (t-shirts, gifts) can be shipped by standard mail within the United States only. Winner may pay for shipping beyond the US if the prize donor permits.
Prizes will be awarded before July 31st 2010.
Additional
The copyright of the image shall remain property of the entrant, but by submitting photos, entrants grant FingerLakes.com a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual,
non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative
works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or
subsequently developed, for any FingerLakes.com
purpose, including, but not limited to advertising and promotion of the Web
site, printed publications and commercial products. Photographs may appear on
the FingerLakes.com web site or any
of its printed publications or promotional materials. Any photograph reproduced
will include a photographer credit. FingerLakes.com
will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional
approval in connection with such uses.
Income and taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner.
FingerLakes.com reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion.
All decisions of FingerLakes.com in relation to the contest winners will be final.
