With seasonal bounty as rich as the soil and heritage that cultivate it, Finger Lakes farms offer a variety of ways to experience a taste of the region’s best produce locally—from farmer’s markets to community supported agriculture (CSA) programs, from farm stands, to pick-your-own (U-pick) produce.  All of these options offer opportunities to learn more about the farmers who tend to the food we eat—and some invite you to the fields to harvest for yourself!

In a region where passion for beauty and agriculture go hand in hand, Finger Lakes U-Pick Farms offer the sweetest invitation you will find to experience fresh from the stem fruits and vegetables.  Visit participating U-Pick Farms to pluck grapes fresh from the vines, pick berries directly from the patch, and gather apples right from the orchard, while saving you and the farmer harvesting costs. 

In most of the region, you can start the season with strawberries and sweet cherries in June, blueberries, raspberries, sour cherries, and peaches in July, pears in August, and plums and grapes in September.  In addition, some farms offer a variety of vegetables for the picking—from asparagus to beans, peas, herbs, tomatoes, potatoes, squash, peppers, shallots, leeks, lettuce, and pumpkins.
