The Museum:

The Greyton H. Taylor Wine Museum was established in 1972 by Walter S. Taylor.  The museum is divided into two buildings. The Cooper Shop Building and the Wine museum which feature the Walter S. Taylor Art Gallery.

  • The Cooper Shop Building is a replica of the Hammondsport Cooperage Company that existed from 1875-1915. It has on display a collection of Coopers tools, a 70-minute film on the art of barrel making and local memorabilia of the winemaking industry.
  • The Wine Museum is home to a collection of antique winemaking equipment, artifacts from the days of prohibition, historic artifacts from the early wine industry and a collection of Presidential wine glasses that date back to Abraham Lincoln’s presidency.

Art Gallery:

The Walter S. Taylor Art Gallery houses original artwork by Walter Taylor, including paintings, inks and mixed media pieces. Aside from the 200 pieces of art in the museum, Taylor’s work is also featured on the labels of Bully Hill wine bottles.
