HARRIET HOLLISTER SPENCER STATE RECREATIONAL AREA

Situated high on a hill overlooking Honeoye Lake, Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreational Area is a true hidden jewel in the NY State Parks system. While the park offers a variety of warm-weather amenities, including hiking and biking trails, picnic tables and a quaint, rustic stone and wood pavilion, it is best known for its vast network of cross-country skiing trails. Because of its high elevation, the park generally sustains a longer ski season than the surrounding area, and is a favorite spot for cross-country skiers from all over the region. During ski season the trails are maintained and groomed by the Rochester Cross-Country Ski Foundation.
